Canaan is Certified Bronze

The Climate Smart Task Force’s work is guided by two New York State programs: Climate Smart Communities and NYSERDA Clean Energy Communities. Through these programs, New York State helps local governments reduce emissions and adapt to a changing climate by offering grants, recognition and technical assistance.

Canaan achieved Bronze Certification through Climate Smart Communities in 2023, and is working toward Silver by taking further actions to reduce emissions and improve climate resilience in our community.
